I'd like to respond to the MLA for Kootenay East. The former Energy and Mines Minister has coal mines in his constituency, so obviously he has knowledge of the industry.

Well, the Finance Minister likes to talk about consultation. They decided against consultation when every member on that side of the Legislature voted in favour of the HST a year ago.

Doug in Question Period regarding the HST
Here's an example of how the supposed streamlined B.C. Liberal HST process has hit a family in my constituency. The Bassetts from Smithers recently purchased a horse trailer in Ohio. When they brought it home, they paid HST on the trailer — more than $2,100. They were expecting that.

Response to Motion 5, Clean Power and Renewable Energy Technologies
Well, I don't question the intent of the member for Peace River North about this motion, but unfortunately his government doesn't act like they believe in two of the important concepts that are included there. There's a credibility gap, hon. Speaker. They're saying one thing and doing another.
